Hi - I'm new to this site...does anyone know of Leonard Berski, or Bursky..don't know if I'm spelling that one right. He was an awesome kneelo back in late 70s at Malibu, etc. ??

Maybe it is Skynard...but what a name. He should be around 44 now. He used to have a kneeboard with a tiny single fin, really far forward. He'd side slip down the face...spin 360s...really good. Is that the guy?

Does anyone know about Brad Stanley. That guy ripped on a quad, but I don't know if he's a regular at any gatherings or contests... anyone know about him??

I see Brad Stanley surfing here in Oxnard sometimes, he lives in Malibu. He charges, goes to Tavarua alot. Rides ( different ) kneeboards they work for him......Lynard Skynard is another Malibu guy I have not seen in quite a while though...

Leonard Skynard?
I think the Kneerider you're referring to is Leonard Bornstein. I remember him from the early 80's-I surfed with him at Rivermouth,Rincon,Silverstrand,etc.........He even scored me my one and only session at Point Dume-It was EPIC!! The guy flat out Ripped-I saw him do a 360 in the tube at 6" Rincon.........way ahead of his time. The last time I saw him in the 80's was at Rivermouth, he said he was moving to Hawaii-he just disappeared-but I did see his name in a mag once, he got a win in an HSA contest.
About 5 years ago-He walked up to me to check out my board at the"Swamp" parking lot. He remembered me & I remembered him-we talked for 10 minutes or so, he said he would see me in the lineup.......and he just disappered.
?-Chris

It's Leonard Borenstein... He did rip in a big way.
I knew him in about '76  .
360s, side-slipping, really amazing... got me into kneeboarding.
Thanks for sharing the sightings.
When in doubt, trust your rail.

also worth mentioning that there was a Hosey sighting

Yeah Leonard is a regular at Jalama. I surf with him every time that I'm
there. He did mention that he was a regular at Malibu back in the days, and surfed contest in the 80's. I just don't know his last name!
