I assume Steen that despite Beelines generalisations (that do have some truth) you and Headwax, amongst others (?) have their fins ( on their Parkes boards) set further back?

Not all holdens are V8's, it depends on how many holdens you have seen.

Beeline...Ive always been a fan of finding the particular within the general and the general within the particular

nirvana is found in samsara:!:

given petrol prices its also lucky that not all holdens are V8's :D

Im learning to ride a board further back...its quite interesting what it does to one's vision of the wave

replace "driving" with "surfing"

how many standups do you see trying to ride a perfomance board beyond their ability, when they would be having way more fun on a more suitable board :?:

"how many standups do you see trying to ride a perfomance board beyond their ability, when they would be having way more fun on a more suitable board"
And that's a good thing. :D

The mainstream media does a great job promoting the new school potatochip stand up board.
Great if you are fit enough to "swim" the thing, or are a skinny kid and get to surf all the time.

I just love sitting only waist deep on my kneeboard while most around me are arm pit deep.

Now who do you think's gonna get more waves?

I've had guys much younger than me bark out complaints to me saying, "hey man, you're taking off too deep". :?

thats the funniest thing ive heard in a long time

many standups are a rare breed of irony and lack of reflection

also some shapers must be making a fortune from the performance board being spent within a relatively short life span.

Ah Beeline...that ones a bit cryptic..for me!...what you mean?

I know a lot of performance shapers that have to count on 10 a day JUST to keep the doors open..that's 50 a week to start..just before you pay your rent, your workers, insurances, GST, fuel and a mortgage (if your lucky)..besides..

just like everything else in life, this market is led from above..

it is the consumer that sets the pace

never..the other way around

hart

ps

whatever you (and others) think the 'media' is doing to surfing, we only ever have to look to ourselves to find the answer

I of course include myself in that equation..because we all know that life (and evolution) moves on

don't ever stand still :!:

(and stop blaming intangible objects for our own limitations)

:?

pps

what the bloody hell is an 'aussie tri' anyway?
