Never surfed anywhere outside of North Devon, apart from Newquay over twenty years ago! I'm not even sure where Bantham is apart from being on the south coast some where!RMcKnee wrote:Looks nice. Pretty cool to have your own artwork on the bottom!
You ever get to surf Bantham?
Normally surf Woolacombe but we have discovered that it's quicker to get to Westward Ho! of a lunchtime rather than get through Braunton, so I can see a few lunchtime sessions with my Line Manager coming up!
Curves, no idea, but fins are FCS but Bro has adapted them specifically.Kev wrote: what under curves are there ?
and
what fins are fitted ?
Just a shame the surf was blown out yesterday, I refuse to pay 6 quid to surf Putsborough for a couple of hours

Hey KB, you said
Nice looking board though, hope you get some decent waves soon.
I asked about Bantham cos I used to live near there; saw the best waves I ever saw in UK there in...maybe '95... top to bottom O/H barrels. Motivated me to get back here to God's country.
I sympathise mate. I got stuck in Pomgolia for a few years myself and more than anything hated having to pay for EVERYTHING. They never let you forget you're living in the country that invented the window tax.I refuse to pay 6 quid to surf Putsborough for a couple of hours

knee_boarder, good looking board and i'm sure it will go as good as it looks He knows how to make them work!
Fins are usually Bro's own templates, either hand foiled or he has a very good set available made to his template by Rainbow for lokbox. They work very well indeed!
RMcKnee, the bantham area is my local stalking ground, Challaborough in particular. Bantham is a zoo now, anything up to 150+ in on a weekend and mostly plank riding wannabes so I generally give it a miss as there's better nearby. Car park is expensive in season but not £6 thats just ridiculous!! Better off paddling from the bigbury side and parking in the economy field! Still, when the rivermouth is doing its thing at a good size the crowds magically thin out and there's barrels to be had
szrbloke, drop me a line when you move, plenty of gold around here

well, I got in the water last night. Choppy 2-4ft Woolacombe and while I didn't get many waves (4), the ones I did catch (seriously unfit at the moment!), the board absolutely flew on!
The extra floatation does make it harder to duck dive , I've got to learn to put more welly into it to make up for it.
The speed in comparison to my old boards is unbelievable, I love it.
Thanks very much Bro!

sscchhtoke...
Good onya KB. There's nothing like a new board to give your surfing a swift one in the pants. Unreal feeling, ain't it, to get that first wave and find the new stick is everything you hoped for and more. Looking at the photos you posted got me thinking that if I was over there I'd be itching to go see Bro myself to place an order. I do like the look of his twinnie slab...
The trick now is to hold on to that dose of stoke while you save up for the next new board. If one new board feels good, imagine how much better two will feel. Plus, Bro will be stoked to see you back again too. Spread the love brother!

Congrats on your new board, it's great when they work! And the cool thing about having a Diplock board is when someone asks you who shaped it, you can say "my Bro."
