now being a Bonzer adict I have a huge problem
1.Bonzers work no problem I have had a few over the years.
2.only stand up shapers shape them.
3.Mr Parks shapes a Bonzer kneeboard but it is for mal style surfing its great it works and I love it as I have one.
4.All the Eaton kneeboards I have seen do not look like they are going to work as the plan shape is to squat and the fins are to far back and the centre fin cannot be put in the correct position according to Malcom Cambells set up I might be doing a huge injustice here as I have not ridden one.
5.I am a firm believer in the system and I believe it will work and well on a kneeboard only if it is shaped by a kneeboard shaper and the fin system is adheard to correctly this is where I believe the problems starts(I have converted a Kneeboard to a Bonzer 5 and it seems to work but this does not have channles) as if you look at a Bonzer the fins are for a stand up surfer not a kneeboarder the system ie Bonzer 5 should be moved forward I have suggested this to Malcom some time ago but recieved the comment they should stay as they are weather this was from Malcom or someone else i do not know but the comment was not from a kneeboarder, but if the bonzer as a kneeboard is to be taken seriously it needs looking at as a bonzer as opposed to a hibrid.
6.Mr Hart has preduced a Bonzer related board that looks superb but is not a true Bonzer as this was not the intention, the Bonzer is unique in its form and I do believe requires further looking at it is not an out of date design.
I have put myself on the line again here as in the past as in the uk I do not think we have a shaper who has the conviction and want to preduce one as its not a tri fin or quad and is seen as retro.

Head on the block job.

Stu, I've read that Malcom is pretty convinced with how his design works and know he has made any number of kneeboards over the years. If your that into bonzers you might try one from him if you havn't already, it would at the very least give you the ultimate reference point to work from. There is a shaper that was trained in shaping bonzers by malcom, does kneeboard, and does know the intricate differences between a kneeboard and a surfboard. Rich Pavel, probably take a year or two to get it but it might be worth it.

Something about the design I find beautiful, I wouldn't really care if it worked, although that would be preferable, but I would enjoy just looking at it.

I read somewhere, I think it was The Surfer's Journal, that the very first bonzer was a kneeboard. Have you checked out Malcom's "octofish" model on the Campbell Bros website looks like a nice outline for a bonzer kneeboard. www.bonzer5.com

your right the 1st Bonzer was a kneeboard that they put the traingular fins on and rode it as a stand up, as to the Octofish this looks like it would work well I love the ewings must be a bitch to glass but i still feel those fins for a kneeboard need to be further forward.
gotta talk to the man
