Need a new Kneeboard - how to buy?

Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker, seldom poster here...

I need to buy a new Kneeboard. Don helped me purchase my first - a Parkes - a several winters ago - and I picked up a shorter, thinner, summer time board from my friends down in Brazil a year later.

Now I'm ready for another one, but where to buy? I'm pretty lazy when it comes to understanding dimensions and design. Ideally, I'd like to buy one off the rack and just go surfing.

Where I surf: OB San Francisco up to 8ft.
Frequency: Weekend Warrior.
Me: I'm 5'7" 170lbs.
(Non)ability: I'm def not a ripper  . That said, I'm thinking a thinner board I can both duck dive and easily turn would be the best fit for me. On a good day I try to hit the lip and float. I prefer light, responsive boards.

Any suggestions? Do I need to order from overseas? Or can I find a shop/shaper here in California? Anybody want to sell me a used board?

Thanks in advance, :)

Seeker, have you tried John Mel / Freeline Surf Shop in Santa Cruz? They probably have boards on the rack, and John can shape you anything you need.

Ditto to Buddy McCray in Hawaii... 8)

Do yourself a favor and visit Mollusk Surf Shop in SF. Take a look at the boards they have in there, you'll be stoked.
