Gotta be Bali
Cripple Crusader you're a lucky man with a large decision to make, for mine it's gotta be Bali, great weather fantastic food awesome people warm water and to top it off good waves!!!Really its not that big a decsion after looking at it. Mind you stay well away from the drug scene unless you want to share a cell with the Aussie girls.
getting there is often as good as getting there

Peter,
Just to add to your indecisiveness........
A trip to Hawaii would allow you to save.............
Air fare cost......
It's less than $500 rt. as apposed to $1500+, also add in board carrage fees. (I just checked www.expedia.com they have a US$311 rt with Northwest air)
Time flying.......
5hr either way,
as apposed to 24hr going to Bali from LA and 30hr + returning (they make you layover in, Taipei, Hong Kong etc.)
You'll save lot of energy to actually surf.

Peter,
If you live in Australia, then Indo is just a hop away, so you can do Bali when you move here.
I voted North Shore, because one can never get enough of that juice and it's not so cheap from Australia.
I recommend S Cal over the 'Gong because you will then have a fuller frame of reference to justify your move to Australia (and not LA). I know, I lived in S Cal for 7 years and thank my stars every day like this one (and those days are very frequent!!!) album_showpage.php?full=&pic_id=4721 that I chose to settle in Australia (thanks mates for having me!)
Bugger! I can't get the pic to display in the message!

Hey Peter My vote is for Indo. Bali is over run with crowds and various social hazards but has an incredible variety of surf. That time of year Sanur, an incredible righthander, sould be a good bet. Eventhough it's late season for G-Land you should strongly consider it; it is the 8th wonder of the world. If you've never surfed Indo then it's a no brainer, INDO!!!
