I was a Pakalas boy when I lived over there in 00'-01' and have always wanted to go back. I never got to alot of breaks i knew about too. I got a yellow (BEATR!) hacked up surfboard into a kneeboard swallow tail twin for $30 from Ambrose's junkyard and that how i got into kneeboarding. Best board in the world. It had gardenhose handles resined into the sides so you could grab em' and come out the back of the wave on a close out barrel no prob! I lost it in the rip up in Hanelie bay at Middles so if you see it leanin up against the tree by the pier I'll fly out immediately.
I was wondering what side of the island do you mostly surf? or do you follow the season there. I feel like coming back over there to just surf, kneeboard, and spearfish some more...
David,
the longboarders all hang at the end bowl. if you paddle up the point it can be pretty empty.
i had some friends who fished the akule schools (with net) that are sometimes found in the channel. several guys would herd the fish (divers) and they said there was always a few big tigers hanging around.
not sure about the bull.
a very fun wave.
