Australia in May
I'll be in Australia the last three weeks of May. Have some friends in Maroughbra (sp?) and Woolongong. Probably stay a few days in each of those.
Other than that can anyone give me some advice on where else to go? I think i'll want to stay south of Sydney as I think it will be less crowded but am open to any suggestions.
thanks

a very good time to surf in victoria, particulaly in the Bells Beach region and further along the Great Ocean Road
Stay at the Rookery Nook Hotel at Wye River....or at least have lunch there....you will see what I mean....losts of surf possibilities close by including Kennet River
the weather will/should be autumnal....clear skies, light offshores
of course a low could come sreaming up the southern ocean.... but that would bring swell and there are many protected reefs that show themselves on fresh new swells and otherwise dodgy winds
also Lorne is a pleasent seaside town as is Apollo Bay
the last of the summer warmth is in the water so it is quite pleasent but a sealed 3/2 is recommended....by mid June 3/4s
look up the area on the net...the Great Ocean Rd is just that!
good hunting

I heard of a place called Alice Springs that cranks. I bet some of you boys are from around there
