We are currently planning a Hawaii trip feb 16 - 24th as well but it is likely not the NS for most of that time. Wife says two times in a row NS and wants something different, this time around. Seems to be pretty keen on seeing molten rock so maybe i will be in smokin's territory. I going to try and plan at least a couple of days sans family at NS around that time hopefully. Its hard to be married to a women that grew up in NY and just does not seem to understand the need to get as much good surf as possible in life.
Scott, OB is starting to wake up may be worth a trip up here this weekend and the coming days. I am down in LA most of the next two weeks wouldn't it figure

scott, i really like the power up towards sunset. what i don't like are the guys on nine foot boards that paddle around you.
for sanities sake, i mostly surf the breaks between waimea and haleiwa. last spring i caught alligator rock with 8-12 foot faces with four guys out.
kneemor, how long are you staying? i'll be staying at a friends in makakilo so i'm definitely not tied to just the north shore.
if the winds are kona, i can get on the marine base on the east side. last year my friend took me to pyramid rock - now that is a fun wave.

excitement @Pipe yesterday
Does anyone know what the brief excitement at Ehukai was about yesterday ?
Even at Rocky Point a few people were talking about it.
It was either a shark or something with as many teeth.
Eitherway the evening glass-off conditions were pristine
