Hello California!
Hey everyone.
I'm currently riding my bicycle down the coast from Seattle to LA, and am looking for someone to help me get some waves. I don't have my board, and in fact haven't ridden a kneelo in over a year, as I switched to stand up during my time in Canada. I don't have a wetsuit either, but I do have my flippers! I'm currently in Fort Bragg, and am heading south, slowly but surely so if anyone can hook me up, or even just wants to grab a beer and shoot the s*&^, send me a message.
Thanks,
Andy.

Andy, As you get close to HB and Newport, I/we can surely hook you up. The Kneelo Cove crew has tons of boards, suits etc. I live in Costa Mesa and have many boards and suit options.

Thank you all!
Thank you for the replies,
I'll be a little while yet getting to LA Mark, but I will definitley hunt you guys down for some waves!
Scott, I'm still a little up from San Francisco, and it looks like I'll only be getting in there Friday evening, and I'll probably spend the weekend there, but I'll be getting to Santa Cruz Sunday or Monday and I'll give you a holler then.
Yeah Red, the trip got a little longer than planned, but I'll be back home come July, just in time for the winter swells. See you at the Vicco comps when I return!
Thanks again, see you soon!

Cheers Bob
Hey Bob,
I'm in San Francisco now. Staying at the Green Tortoise Hostel on Kearny and Broadway Streets.
I'm 6'0" and I don't know what I weigh, coz I'm sure I've lost weight from my ride. I dunno what size suit would be best.
I'd love to get some waves so if you get a chance, let me know. I don't have a phone, but I'll check back tonight, or you could leave a message for me at the hostel. The number is 415.834.1000. My full name is Andy Whitehead.
Thanks Bob, I hope to hear from you soon,
Andy.

Hi Andy,
I'm around that size, so I'm hoping 1 or the other wetsuit will work
I'm out the door for a bit, but a couple of thoughts...
- Winds are hacking it right now, with continuation into tomorrow. Sunday looks more promising for surf, probably AM vs. PM
- I'm sending contact info via PM
- Choice of board? Well, one part is easy... I only have quads 5'10" Parkes swallow, 6'0" Parkes pin, 5"10" Ballestar square, 5'8" Parkes quad...
Anyhow, looking forward to a go... if nothing else, grab a bite and brew!
The party can grow if anyone else is interested...

See you tomorrow Bob!
Thank you, thank you, Thank you Bob. I'll set my alarm. As for the board, I'd love to try the Ballestar. See you in the Morning!
So...
I got there slightly ahead of time. The hostel, by all accounts, is nice. The surrounding area... well... the closest cross-street was blocked off by police and forensics.
A toothless guy spitting bread or something asks for money and then said, 'yeah, pretty bad stuff' about the incident.
A couple was smoking pot in the parking lot, and other folks were coming out of some clubs. (just before 8AM...)
Otheres were lining up to GO INTO clubs. Sunday AM.
Andy was ready to go, and off we went.
We did the OBSF stretch, which was fairly hacked. Not to be denied, we ended up around Lincoln. There were a few others about, and the waves were popping and standing on the inside bars.

Andy was on it! Had a great time, and all smiles. He ended up taking the Parkes out, and adjusted to the quad nicely.
One thing I failed to mention that he repeated several times is 'dang, don't go for the first wave.' I think it was 7', 8 seconds, so it was one step off a washing machine.
SF didn't disappoint: randomness abound... bikini shoot on the beach for example.
Fog wasn't too thick, and fairly predictable.

It's quite an adventure, and even a Vanuatu stop-over heading home.
Great to meet you! Best of luck on the rest.
For all South of here... line it up for him!
Andy, one thing I didn't call out: go to Freeline on 41st street in Capitola
I mentioned John Mel, and that's his shop. There's usually a kneeboard on hand...
All the best,
Bob
