last time i was in fiji i stayed on plantation island 10 minit boat ride from wilkes passage but spent most of our time surfing desperations ...a finger like reef about 15 mins further along the reef away from cloudbreak
plantation is a lot cheaper alternitive though maybe more basic but has great bures for those who want to spend more
when i was there in march 2 years ago the americans i chatted to where paying 3+ more than i did...though could get better access to cloud break if its working....we only had a saturday option....but if your a tad stint...this could be an option worth looking at...

Scot,
I'm off to Fiji in mid July. I am going to Nagigia (King Kong lefts) for a week and then on a boat trip for a week. It is a new area in the eastern Fijian Islands. It is called the Legends Surf Tour. I think it is the same place you are talking about. If I get some good pics I will post them.

Rick
Nagigia is suppose to be unreal
Lovely bure's over hanging the water but no beach apparently..surf a short paddle or a boat ride away
It is a bit of an effort to get there (conections etc) but I believe it is a great destination
Have a ball and leave a report for us all to read on your return
cheers

Tony,
Hope you get to surf Wilkes this time. Last year I was at Musket Cove for a week. Got to surf Wilkes and Desperations. Wilkes is a better wave at least when I was there. Wilkes is a fairly long wave with some hollow sections. The swell was not an idea one for that spot when I was there. But the currents through the pass are very strong. Tide is important. Got to see Namotu and Cloud Break, didn't surf them. Sorry but no pictures. I distroyed the camera at Frigates Pass on the first day. Have a great time.
