Hello my fellow kneeboarders. When you guys travel, do you ever put each other up at your houses?
I would like to travel and stay with some of you guys, or at least nearby so I have someone to kneeboard with on a daily basis when I'm on vacation.

I do not know about housing Kneeboarders but from expierence in my bicycle racing days housing semi professional racers was a real bad idea.

On to the future I am interested in doing a house trade/vacation with a responsible Aussie/NZ family.

On subject, can't house folks... we can barely house our family. However, more than happy to recommend locations and surf with/give info/and so forth.

Had a guy from S. Africa at my apartment one time. I showed him around for a couple weeks.
It's always better to surf with a friend, and especially if your going to a foreign location plagued by localism.
I surfed Makaha once, but only because I was staying with Rell Sunn who was a gracious host before she passed away. I doubt if I could surf it today, I am sure I would never make it into the water before getting pounded by some local. I didn't like the wave anyway.

I always have a spare room (+ bath) for a fellow kneelo in kneed in San Diego. Ask Red. I've also hosted Scoop's daughter, Bree. I'm saving up vouchers for a future stay in Australia ... (some day!). The accomodations are a little furry and not terribly close to the beach (15 minutes), but mostly bug free and clean. Think I get a least a 2-star AAA rating ... except for the hostess who is surly in the mornings.

Mike - Rell was a friend and a real princess.....or, more accurately, a queen.........the Queen of Makaha. She served with me on the board of Surfrider and we were able to surf together a few times.

We could use more like her in the world.
