Brisbane to Tassie surf trip

Post by ss54 »

You mentioned possibly a trip over to S.A,the PRIME surf is NOW on the west coast, with high pressure systems in the Bight offshores are assured. . .
Great waves from Pt Lincoln to Cactus(Lincoln even has a Pt break offshore in a SW blow-Right Pt,Fishery Bay,needs a 3-4m swell to pump,& have had it great !!)
Coffin Bay,Flatrock,best in 1.5m swell,SE wind-Great KB wave
Greenly Beach,End Bay,1.5-2m swell, E wind
Kiana Reef (you may find the Beach,4wd-Reef) 2.5m swell NE wind
Sheringa-the Hot Spot-1.5m swell NE wind, FANTASTIC left reef
Blacks-Elliston 1.5-3m swell SE wind
Venus Bay (VB's) 2m swell NE wind(more W in swell, the better)
Won't piss the Streaky boys or the Penong crew off,so will leave it there. . .
But when I lived over there, often,if 10 or so in the water, guys would wait till guys came in,then paddle out!!
Does that happen ANYWHERE ELSE in OZ???
Flex-It's all about "how it feels"

YO Fruit Bat, agree with Red about Bruny island, drive to the bottom of the island , 3km up the beach to the east cloudy head NP camping area. You'll need NP pass. The most consistent surf on the island is just near where you drive onto the beach. :)
You'd pass right by my gate just before you get to the beach but I'll be back in QLD the day you leave..... :(
happy hunting
Minnie waters and diggers camp in the yuragir NP worth a look , good camping in the NP, varied breaks.

will you have net access and to this forum, while on the move ?
if so
let us know when you are near Melbourne and I'm sure some of us can link up and show a couple of the more local spots

Point Nepean Park is good for a walk or a bike and explore. The Quarantine area and buildings, Gun Emplacements up the end , ' outstanding coastal scenery and panoramic views of Bass Strait ' and the Heads (quote from the web page)
and you may even see a wave
