Has anyone ever surfed in New Caledonia?
Where and when is the best time to go?
Some of the surf travel companies are offering some reasonable deals, but I haven't heard too much about the place. A friend pointed out that the lower latitudes may make it windy, unlike the doldrums you get in the tropics.

ouano surf camp
http://www.ouanosurf.com/english/surfcamp.php
ouano left is a long ripable wave with different sections holds 3-12' and a right over the channel shorter but intense. winter gets the bigger mor consistent swells coming up through the tasman sea past NZ and with the S/E trades blowing all through winter the west side of the island where these breaks are, are off shore all day but can get an off shore bump as the reefs are a fair way off shore, in summer the winds can be lighter but swells are not as consistent
also nakweta surf camp not far from ouano camp you can do a mix of the two http://www.nekweta.com/english/surfcamp.php
