Visiting Down South

Post by alfredo zavala »

It's that time of the year for the Zavala family pilgrimmage to Oceanside to visit Gramps and all the other kinfolk.
If there will be any kneeboard gatherings I'd like to know.I hope for some dawn patrols.
Looking forward to some warmer water.
What are the temps?
Thanks
Fredo

Craigʻs right but I have not seen him out in trunks. The water is warm enough but the air has been chilly in the morning. Also the surf has been pretty bad, morning winds almost every day. If there is a direct onshore at dawn head down to Carlsbad around Terramar where you can find some kelp beds.

Terramar is Geezer-Old Women longboard hell most of the time but it is also one of the cleanest north county surf spots when the wind starts up. Late in the summer the kelp will die off and it loses itʻs charm. It is also one of the best keep secrets when the southʻs go BIG.
