using that as a way to go about it.
United hired a new ceo in 2003 giving him a 3 million signing bonus.
he lead UAL into bankruptcy with in 3 months,
workers take pay cuts lose benefits and pensions cut by 2/3 s!
the big boys keep getting theirs!
yes I am a bitter former UAL employee.
Best of luck with the out come with Qantas
qantas grounded

well qantas is back in the air with 21 days to sort out its union /company problems but as yet no one is going to budge
but its safe to book & fly as the government will not allow any strikes or groundings so its safe till after christmas
there is still no surf on the sunshine coast
i might have to go to the dark side & use a sup to run over some shark biscuits /eskey lids/boogers/ bodyboarders as there is no one else in the water
only kidding

Sorry to hear that Wanderer, you guys need to sack that guy. Quantas is a great airline, no crashes, etc...
This guy sounds like he is going to ruin morale. Next thing you know, he will introduce surfboard charges.
Maybe you guys need some "Occupy" protests over there, make life a little harder for some. I read a story the other day about how the ceo's, and Wallstreet types are complaining the "Occupy" protests present a "quality of life issue" because they are making it hard to walk around downtown. It's a PROTEST it's suppose to makes things difficult.

it was only 15mil a day they were loosing not 250, they only made a nett profit of 500mil last year, it was a tough year, poor baby's, by the time they pay for an add campaign to win back their lost market share it will have cost them around 100mil. This would have well and truely paid for the unions demands and then some, but it wouldn't have achieved their main objective.
Killing Qantas in Australia.
Mike the record qantas has is more good luck than good management.
We also have occupy protests happening here as well, i thought Joh was back in charge last night on the news when the coppers were dragging off hippie types daring to protest peacefully in a park in Brisbane. Talk about acid flashbacks

once you've had black you'll never go back!!!
when the Oz gov privatised the company it no longer stood for things Oz.
That is if things "Oz" do not promote capitilism and the market as lifes regulators
But if things "Oz" are "NOT" market driven how did Howard remain Pm for10 years.
if its all about the economy (stupid) then why do australians want to vote the current goverment out... things are pretty rosie here on the whole! The eonomy is god...er good (opps freudin slip)
this whole saga continues the disconnect between what people want, understand and perceive of in terms of indentity and belief...pity the media and political spin drives most people thinking...and lovely adds of children singing about australia being home.
Allan Joyce from the capitilist point of view (the seemingly predominant social political view...based on state goverments and polling trends federally) is doing a stirling job...or vote greens or something
lest we are not like the greeks who might vote themselves outa the euro (yet the place is broke and relies on france and germany) and we dont have to suffer a "tea party"...yet

NEWS FLASH
The country we live in has a capitalistic market driven economy girt by sea.
Things were pretty damned good during the Howard led liberal era ... and rather poignantly it was that government who laid the foundations and supplied the budget surplus that carried this country through the GFC ... not drain swan and the stinky ranga.
And yes ... no tea party ... its more like the lunatics are having a drunken orgy and the mad monk wants to gate crash the party in his budgie smugglers.
Opinions and arseholes ... yep ... everyone has one.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand.
While imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.
Albert Einstein ... Yeah Bert.
