Hi Angie

I spent a week on the SW side a while back during April, water was warm - surfed in baggies/chafevest, only wore a shorty in the AM when it was a bit nippy. The area we were in was really isolated so we had to make sure we had adequate medication, spare equipment, board repair goodies etc. Watch out for the dreaded tummy bugs - buddy of mine was there recently & caught some kind of dysentry - was really sick. Things happen slowly over there, so dont be in a hurry. Im sure you will be rewarded with good surf if you are patient. I had probably the best waves of my life there!

Cheers

Andy

Ja would be good to do some research & find out what kind of breaks you can expect. Likely to be reef pass type of waves, sometimes mellow, sometimes shallow. When I was over there I had my favourite 5.11 and a backup 6.1 which I hardly surfed. I was a bit undergunned though on the 5.11 on 1 or 2 occasions
Angie, having seen some of your videos, Im sure youre going to rip it up !

Enjoy

cheers

Hey Terence

Funny enough when i saw Hugh and told him of my plans he didnt mention anything... maybe got some secrets not wanting to share  my fiancee will be popping in soon to collect my board and coffin bag, ill have her ask him.

Hey Andy
iv been doing some research, there is limited info though, from some of the breaks i have found out about in the S.E. they mostly beachies or combination of rock and sand. no reef passes in the area. im taking my shortboard (6'0) which goes in anything up to 6ft, and also taking a 6'1 which goes in anything from 4-8ft, not expecting much more than that.
i believe constistancy wise i can expect shoulder to head high waves 50% of the time, bigger 25% of the time and smaller 25% of the time, just hope i dont knock anymore fins out my board with my head like i did at caverock last friday

im taking a video camera with, cant not get some footage!

Thanks im sure i will enjoy!

Thanks Guys :D Andy: yup warm water, no crowds whats so ever especially at the beaches further away from town, its actually freaky been the only one out when there is a bit of size, dont know about cheap beer though...

Wolruss: thanks but i dont know about been a charger, when i tow into The Right or some slab ill reconsider :-)

Analbirth: I was disapointed cos on days there where waves only 1 in 20 were riddable, sometime you sit for half an hour without a wave and your the only one out... If i hadnt taken my board out the bag on a surfing trip id go nuts...

Nice work, Angie. Love the late drop at 1:56--that shows experience! I sure wasn't expecting to see such nice waves given your ho-hum intro, but I know we were seeing the best of your time there.
