Hey guys, I am heading to Maui for 12 days and couldn't be more excited. It's a family trip but the wifey knows I'll need daily waves. I am bringing my trusty Blast quad-fin so I am coming equipped. We are staying in La'haina but I'll have a rental car so will go wherever on the island. Are there any kneeboarders on this site in Maui? It's my first time to the island. I would very much appreciate any pointers anyone has who's been there. I would love to paddle out with another kneeboarder if there are any around. Thanks! --Joseph

To call concerned, Quinn Peaks, Robert and Day......

Looks like Maui is going to be on for the near future.

I will be there in North Lahaina from the 20-27.

Since it looks to be sizeable and consistent, I broke my kids' piggy banks to bring two boards over.

Id love to meet for a surf if possible.

Aloha.....

Aloha Matt,
Check your PM on the two big swells coming in while you on Maui and wave shadowing from neighboring islands.

Thank You

Aloha-This is is the beauty of KSUSA.

A huge thank you to David Yanagihara, surfer, kneelo, father, healer and Island guide.

I put out a post I was traveling to Maui with my kids.

I brought my children to Maui for a pre college trip for my daughter.
David met me and showed the way. We surfed Mala Wharf the day before Christmas and Honolua Bay the day after.

His son, Zack, joined us at the Bay in the morning, small but magic. He graciously shared the line up, the paddle out and the energy of the area.

He even took pictures; a Hawaiian Bob Gove!

That evening I returned to the Bay on a building swell and somehow managed to snag two of my better waves of the winter, from out past the cave to the inside at Keiki Bowls.

Thank you David, what a gracious host you were.

Happy Holidays.
