HB/Newport gathering Saturday- August 20th
Hi Everyone,
It's on!
The date has been set! Saturday-August 6th.
Again, we will set up on the South Side of the Huntington State Beach Jetty( commonly known as the Talbert Channel or New Jetty- The jetties just south of Brookhurst Street.) You can enter the parking lot at Brookhurst street off Pacific Coast Highway. We will have a tent set up, bbq etc.
We can surf ALL DAY between the New Jetty and Santa Ana River Jetty. They do not blackball here.
BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY! We will be there from Sun up to sundown. The tides will be good, hopefully there will be some swell.
Parking fills up fast in the summer months so get there reasonably early. Cost for a State Park parking is $10.00 unless you have an annual pass. Sorry, you all know the budget situation in CA.
Please shoot me an e/mail if you, family and friends are attending. We will be picking up supplies as needed.
So far My brother Danny, Barry Baker,Tom Backer, Wayne Koppitt, Mike Butler, Chuck and Greg Shewman are all helping with the set up and supplies. Tom Linn, will be coming with his son and three other hungry young KBe'rs! I hear they're stoked! I hear Bob Schiff may be in town. Butler may be working on some raffle giveaways from Hurley.
Will will have an award for the person who travels the furthest and an award for the person who brings the coolest Vintage Kneeboard in good condition.
Come and try a new board design, make a new friend. enjoy!
IT WILL BE THE KNEEBOARD BLOWOUT OF THE SUMMER! BE THERE!

Mark,
Sounds like a whole bunch of fun! Dawn 'til Dusk patrol..........with a couple hamburgers and hotdogs in between...............wouldn't miss it. Or maybe, seeing as you've just gotten back from Nica, you'll probably be cookin' up some carne asada and carnitas?
Let me know if you need any help.

Guys/Gals
We are strongly considering postponing the gathering due to a horrid surf forcast through next Monday.
Outlook
-------
Building small SSW swell later today, peaking tomorrow and Wednesday, then
fading to virtually nothing by Friday (through next Monday).
Put out the word and check back for an OFFICIAL on or OFF tomorrow. So far we have talked to a lot of people and they are good with it. A possible go the following Saturday. I hope this does not screw you up. The surf has just been terrible lately.
