Ler- don't worry about the lack of conditioning, it's good to hear Bolsa will be well represented! Sorry I didn't make it up there - gotta keep good relations the next few weeks leading up to the contest!
The conditions were near perfect. The reason I wanted rain and wind was to keep the locals away. Tom Backer, Ton Linnn, and Barry were killer it. Linn had a double up barrel that had the whole beach hooted. I barely made it to the outside, then wussed out on the 3 footers coming in. I kick it in shorebreak with the groms. Speaking of groms, these guys were charging. They all such good attitudes and killer style. 13 kneelos surfed southside on sunday. Next time I will try and hang outside and catch a set.
Ler,
Monday was even better I think! Santa Ana winds, not to strong and overhead surf made the barrels on Northside perfect!
Danny Robertson and I had a blast trading waves at lunch w/ each of us geting some really deep pits and laughing the entire time.
Wish you were there
Jimputz called me at dawn and said the crew was out with no one around. Popped on Surfline and watched the action before meeting he and Ed at 28th St. Really cool to see live video of the guys on the Southside Peak!
