Wasn't me Doc

Based on my decision to surf a closer heaving shoredump than Noosa 2 weeks ago (which was apparently very good). I feel your friend was better off without any of my advice.

Kev, it's sunny and flat here today. You don't need to join Surfing Australia to surf in our club contests. The club is affiliated with SA and charges annual membership of $30, most of which is for insurance.

Noosa must have been very good, and Grahame was lucky to get it on, said there was some very long rides, requiring a walk back :) Too bad about the shore dump.

Kev,

I'm on the Goldie, Sunshine may be a little far for me over the weekend. Feel free to PM me though on the return journey.

Competition would be interesting. Never done one in my life. I'm one of those who go elsewhere when they see the little tent on the beach. Maybe it's time I shuffled over to see what goes on.

BTW, was in Byron yesterday. No waves north of the cape, south of it was a long 4'+ straight-hander. Points up here are flat. D'bah yesterday at 10:30 AM had 75 people in the water and a 2' wave every 10 minutes.

Paradise indeed. Hope hard for that stormy stuff.

While were discussing Kev's arrival on the Sunshine coast and his jonah effect on the swell :D I would like to extend a friendly invitation to any interested kneeboarders to come along to our monthly pointscores. We meet this Sunday 10th August at Ann Street Reef (carpark at Buderim street Currimundi ) between 6.30 and 7 am.

It's a friendly atmosphere and the only issue for occasional participants is that they need to join the club ($30 for a year). Insurance considerations these days require a paid up membership whereas in the past clubs could get away with collecting a few bucks on the day.

Hi Kev,
Go in the comp it will be great for your surfing...

Don't say to yourself your not good enough... Don't think about trying to get a result just relax in heats and have fun.

You will learn lots and it will give you a clear defined direction in what you want to develop and achieve in your surfing. Also you will have a lot of fun meeting all the kneelos on the sunny coast.

Stay safe have fun and I will see you when you get back to Vicco :P

I know the feeling and use to avoid the tent and clubies as well
but do it, do it Do It !
... as stan says, it will give benefits
(Hi Stan, I made it safely to QLD)

and most importantly it will hook you up with other Kneelos
even if it's only for a chat about kneeboard stuff

Kneelos are different and I have found them just plain supportive and cool to be with with an appreciation for all forms of surf and abilities
... perhaps it is a sign that we are getting older and more wise ... ?

I've made it to my parents place on the Sunshine coast, after leaving Melbourne at around 6:00am in darkness and arrived in Bokarina at around 6:00pm 48 hours later ... after dark.
Stopped late at night on the side of the road for a short sleep (2.5hrs) and then another sleep (3hrs) before daybreak ... both in far north NSW.
I made it to Shapers at Currumbin, then down to Byron to catch Dave before going to Taiwan and then back to Currumbin to buy more stuff and finally up to the SC.
So I have made it to my destination minus many many dollars and a Van full of new toys ... board and an expansion to my Fins and Pads collection

This morning at daybreak I head down to the local beach to find
DEAD FLAT .....
but a beautiful sunrise

swellnet shows ' 4 to 5ft swell with occassional 6ft wave ' and no wind back at my home break.
why am I here ?

oh yeah
the beautiful sunrises
and a few surf sessions with my QLD Kneelo brethren

Mate, aren't you overdoing this travel thing?

Seriously, won't make it to Ann St this weekend, but will be doing so in the nearish future, even if just to see what goes on. You know, if somebody tells you something, you can ignore it. When somebody else tells you the same thing, you can call it a coincidence. When you hear the same thing from a third source ... it's maybe time to listen.

Anyway, enjoy the sunshine and have fun at the pointscore. If everybody prays for surf maybe it won't turn into a paddling contest. :)

:D Hello everyone. Sweating on some swell, going a little stir crazy up here in cowboy country.
Kev, would like to meet you in person and check out your boards/fins.
Doc, think i was talking to you at main beach a couple of weeks back-though i would have been seeking advice rather than giving it.
Good waves at first point that day, excellant Ti Tree the next day. Since then, only one mediocre day at Granite.

Nope wasn't me, probably was Grahame, with a beard, salt and pepper riding a snapper, and trying out his new wetsuit. Unfortunately Grahame not on this site :D

Myself, sticking to warmer waters
