Meanwhile Eric Carson and I had a mini-gathering today charging a solid ground swell (by FL standards) at Indiatlantic in front of Wendy's. Eric was ripping on behalf of kneelos everywhere and the standups took note. One guy with blonde dreads said, "Those things really move."
After that, it was the famous Carson hot tub and hospitality.
Water temp, chasinglefts, was 75. Hats off to you, bro.

MOW and EC i must have just missed you! I took my board out on its maiden voyage down the street at ocean avenue. The things flys! I could have beached it every wave but I would have spent more time paddling out than riding waves. I'm hooked!

Bee, that's what living here does to you. It's Biafra. You're grateful for every crumb that falls from the Master's table.
I remember a few years ago on a visit to SD, we went down to Oceanside at dawn. It was a head-high ground swell, peeling sheet glass. My sons couldn't believe their eyes. They were ready to move out there.
Actually, I'm on lunch and just trying to catch up to you in posts

Man'o-- For the exact same reason that your boys were ready to move out west is why I will gladly drive 3 hours from home, just to struggle into a 4/3, boots, gloves, hood, and brave 40 degree water just for one square double up 6ft shack, and one hell of an ice cream headache. It's tough to live so far from the source, but worth the effort every time.
Hope you boys are enjoying your boardshorts...Know anyone hiring in your area?

yesterday was the day here in north carolina. a bit overhead for the standups and some long lefts with the occasional tube. got about two hours in before the tide finally came in and screwed up the conditions. i was a bit too cold by then anyway due to the balmy 47 degree water. chasinglefts, if you're only in a 4/3 up on the eastern shore your boys must get lost for a day or so. i'm in a 6/5 here and i'm sure the water's at least a few degrees warme than where you are.
now if we could just get some swell like the aussies on the east coast are right now...maybe in the fall.

Chasing, too funny I am also driving three hours for anything
Yes I surfed Indian River Inlet Sunday, head high and good rights, some lefts, then Ocean City 48th street Monday, rad current, overhead knarly lefts, some rights, broke my leash
Surfed three hours Sunday, lasted five on Monday, I was toasty in my 6-4mm, and 5mm gloves and booties. Water still 41-45, too cold for 3mm.
I am there if your going and there's waves. I also skate the Ocean Bowl.
