Hi all,
This reports a little late but better late than never (as the saying goes).
The monthly poinscore was set down for last Sunday 9/10. The surf was just contestable at approx 2ft with pristine weather conditions ie a slight offshore breeze, 30 deg, not a cloud in the sky with plenty of "eye candy" on the beach.....yummy! We decided to have the contest at a beach break known as Cockatoos, located at Curramundi.
As always we all went for the warmup come expression session first for about 45 min or so, prior to settling down to getting the heats going, thence leading into the final.
Everyone without exception surfed well in the heats but the final came down to be fought by Nick (The Bear) Culbert, Scott (The Wanderer) Berry, Peter Haley and Darryl Schilling.
Congratulations must go to Nick (The Bear) Culbert who pulled of some excellant moves in the small surf to clean up first position. Followed in second by Peter Haley and very closely followed in the narrowest of margins Scott Berry in third with an ever improving and mad keen Darrl Schilling in fourth spot....onya guys...well done.
Sundog Eyewear has come onboard as a sponsor for the KB division of the Windansea Boardriders Club.As a part of their support, they will be
supplying a pair of sunnies to the most improved or best move of the monthly pointscore. This months winner was unanomously awarded to a most deserved Darryl Schilling... well done mate.
A big thankyou must go to Sundog Eyewear for their support.
To all who attended, many thanks for making another pointscore contest a success and more importantly total fun. Here's looking forward to the next one.Onya's all.
Hoo roo,

Thanks Steve

Well done to SunDog Eyewear, certainly provides a nice incentive for our friendly comps. Might have to watch out, could induce few of the club's grommets to have a crack if they bomb out of their standup heats!

Well done to Nick, he certainly got some nice rides (including a head dip with complementary grin at the judging panel).

On a minor note - how about editing the heading, we are well past the Reformation stage.

Good Job with the monthly pointscores
seems that the momentum is building :!:
also congratulations on scoring some prizes
GO SUNDOG
If your contact at sundog would like to sell a pair or 2
Please have him contact me. I have sent 2 different emails
to their website and I have gotten NO Response
I would like to get a pair of their polarized goggles
The only places around here that carry the sundogs are GOLF
shops ( I dont golf) and they dont stock the goggles :?:
You would think that the poor fools who end up in the water hazzard would benefit from them
sorry for being of topic, CHEERS

Hi World,
Shelfbreak: Yes, with Sundog Eyewear's support it'll help push guys to improve and keep things interesting. If we get a few grommets that would be a benefit. But, we must keep in mind that this is for the people kbing for the "right" reasons.
We should change Nick's nickname from The Bear to Hollywood.
Yep, I'll have to have look at a new post heading...any suggestions? :)

Barry:Thanks for your words of encouragement it's appreciated.
I can't help you directly with your queeries however SUNDOG EYEWEAR is a Canadian based company. If you are having troubles contacting them by email I would suggest you contact them by phone there number should be on their web site.Your right they are predominantly envolved in the golf market (that's where the big buck's in the USA are). But are now stetching there market to cover most sports and surfing is one of them.
They make a good water glass known as "Tremor".It is not a goggle but a sunglass that is designed for water sports. It has chemical treatment that repells water to resist fogging. The glasses come in various lens colours with about 7 choices of frame colour. They also float if they are ripped off the "melon".They retail in oz for $99 what they retail in the US I wouldn't have clue. They do have a polarised lens option but I wouldn't recommend it for surfing as the clarity is far too clear and tends to distort vision whilst in the water ie perception of wave is distorted.Your better off getting the Poly Carbonate lens.Come to think of it, get your local surfshop to run the enquiry for you. that would enable them to stock the glasses for other guys (kbers) that maybe interested.Oh yeah Oakley also make a water glass but it's heaps expensive, doesn't float and you have to paint the anti fog on them.Anyway I hope that helps you and anyone else out on a bit of info on waterglasses. No, I'm not a salesman.Yes, I do work for Sundog as storeman.
That's it from me I'll catcya's later,
Hoo roo
