Not familiar with Mission Jetty but will be by February! By SPONSOR, do I assume heavy localism?

Yes, So Mission can be fun but we can cross it off the list. It's a poor place for a Gathering. That peak can barely hold 10 guys and the locs would not be cool with kneelo invasion. When we all meet we have 15-25 kneelos and need quite a bit of room. The Newport Gathering in August had more than that and even with all of the room at RJs it was still crowded for us. Most of the fun is in getting together, with the waves being secondary. I'm sure come early December Jack will post about the annual Blacks Gathering in December....always a fun one!

Trestles?

Post by jadams3 »

How about Trestles? Uppers and In-Betweens up to Cotton's can handle a decent gathering without hogging the peaks....

Beeline.... I`ll be your SPONSOR.... I`ll bring my pickle nose out... You`ll be safe around me. Besides I still owe you a few KBing lessons !!!

If we are going to have a S.D. gathering,I think it needs to be no farther north then Torry Pines.

SD Gathering

Post by jadams3 »

Well.........it looks like the LA crew and the OC kneelos are into Trestles but I'm good with Torrey Pines if that's the general concensus......technically, Trestles is in San Diego county but right on the line, literally.....anyway, lots of spots to pick.....Del Mar beachbreak could be good if the sandbars are right, otherwise just alot of close-outs......15th St has too many longboards and the peak is too focused to accomodate a gathering......Pipes needs a good swell to make it a fun KB wave......OK......I'm just a South OC KB'er so it should be up to the SD guys if it's a SD gathering.....it will be fun no matter where....I'm IN.....

I'm with you KAVA, who DOESN'T like Tretles! But toofast3 has a good point about geography. The Northern Pines sounds like the spot, are we set with the day (sat. or sun.)? Since this would be my first "gathering", do you normally bring stuff to scarf on after we've ripped the waves?

Kava,

I know that, I started it in the 6th post on page one. That was my mistake. There was no intention of excluding the O.C area. We needed a post with the correct heading so people can follow the thread.
