Hey Kava,

I often stop at Taco Bell to check out the surf. Haven't paddled out there for a while, been frequenting the Newport Jetties and State Beach lately but will definitely keep an eye out for someone matching your description. Sounds like it shouldn't be too difficult!
I'm usually riding a white Romo quad but no beard or bushhat. 8)

Taco Bell Reef

Post by Jimputz »

I guess the Taco Bell that's about 3 or 4 blocks North of HB pier has been dubbed "Taco Bell Reef" but without the coral beds, rocks, and underwater caves! Maybe it's because of the 10 mph side current? I don't know?? :D

9th Street

Post by Ler »

The reason 9th street is called Taco Bell Reef is: way back in the day the Taco Bell people starting dumping all there left over taco's right out at 9th street and a killer left used to break there. Eviromental people told them to stop dumping Taco's and the left slowing went away. There you have it.

Hard shell or soft shell? We'll have to try that around here.

I believe it was hard shell. I have scars that a soft shell could not make.
