Coopers Red Cup

Post by red »

Here's the state of play.
It's on. Assuming there are waves (actually there are always waves), we'll hit the water on the Friday of the PI contest and then have a couple of beers (Coopers Red) afterward when we can nominate the 4-6 standout surfers of the session.
Simple - massed attack on the water, watch what goes on from the water, report results, drink Coopers, go to the PI draw.

Time and place to be decided on the day.
No beach permit so there may be other people in the water. Hopefully they will accept invasion gracefully and share a beer with us.
I hope to film it, and produced edited DVD of it (plus 2004 highlights), but this depends on costs (paying the cameraman and editor). One way is for all participants to commit to buy a DVD for $15 or so.

BUT
It would help if people who participated last year could drop a post about what they enjoyed what they felt could be improved.
Some things that I'd like to hear about are:
Relaxation, enjoyment and family values, organisation and uniqueness of event (or lack of).

Now a quick survey. No flames, please, it's in the interest of preserving the LAST family owned brewery in Australia (and trying to extract some sponsorship from them).

Coopers drinkers are 18-34, university students and young professionals, individualistic, socially aware, likes quality and substance, leaders, risk takers, comfortable with new technology, not trendy but stylish, music of all styles.

Do kneeboarders fit that profile?
Yes, I know you're a bunch of old farts who are set in your ways, but I reckon most kneeboarders fit a bunch of the characteristics. What do you think.

Hullo Red

you maye have to up the notch a wee bit now alberto has the

"Alberto's Tia Maria Trophy"

From what I hear, appears that that Tia drinkers are refined, almost never gay, wear matching socks and, more importantly, have excellent amounts of credit available on their gold American Express cards.

Not that there is anything wrong with being gay - it's the matching socks that worried me.

Here's to Red's Coopers Cup ..... hic.

Love the sparkling ale and Red's work

Post by halbs »

Love your work Red and admire your zest in pursuing the mix of kboarding and coopers, it's got to be a good thing. The Sparkling Ale kept my grandfather alive for the last few years of his life, he drank it from longnecks straight from the box that he stored in the shed and that and cheezels were the only thing that past his lips- proves its nutritional value!!Don't think I could drink it warm though so full marks to the old fella. The reason you drink it as a student is because of its potency you only need a couple of pints to get merry and you don't need to waste valuable resources on food. If you need a wagon load brought over from SA I'd be happy to fill the car and tell the wife and kids that I'm going for a surf.Great work and best of luck with the sposnsorship!!!!
getting there is often as good as getting there
