I'll be there, with camera only if I can draft someone to be a camera caddy, otherwise, I'm up for a surf! :D

Dave,

That is what this forum is for. If we schedule a lot of gatherings; at least one a month this should help to spread out the attendance. Some of the gatherings like Oceanside Harbor have become quite large and have become a victim of their own success.

Trestles is an easy call for John, everybody likes it; it is central; and you know it is going to be crowded so who cares if more people show up.

My call is for a lot of mini gatherings some planned in advance and some at the last moment depending on what spot is going off.

Gatherings.....

Post by jadams3 »

I like your line of thought here Curtis. We all surf at least once a week so if we use the calendar and schedule more frequent mini-gatherings it will lessen the impact of any one large gathering and allow us to surf different spots. I'm still up for a SD gathering at Torrey Pines in Feb..... :)

 We could have a large gathering at a spot that would handle the numbers maybe a couple times per year to have a big bash. It might be a good idea to plan a summer Luau type of gathering, camping out at Cardiff and surfing different spots for a couple days......good for kids, wives, etc.....just an idea to kick around.... attendees could surf their break of choice and hook up in the evenings for BBQ, tunes, etc......If anyone would be interested in planning such a thing, start a new thread and we'll see the level of interest generated........

Looking forward to Trestles 8)
Aloha.......JA

Believe me Curtis, my comment was all tongue-in-cheek  I think the Trestles gig is going to be great. San Diego gathering will happen, no hurry. Your idea of smaller gatherings is excellent. I have your number in my phone so I will call about this weekend. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
