Grom Gathering 1/14/06 Oceanside

It was a good time in so many ways. Good to see the ladies and groms going strong and in increasing numbers.

Shaun thanks (autually Martin authorized the loan, sorry Joe) for the use of your Really Fast Blast. I had one turn that felt great on it. Zeke and your Dad saw that one as did some standie up close.

Martin thanks for the Coco, hadn't had any in a long while.

Darcy thanks for the offer of a test ride and I will deffinatley take a rain check please.

Had a great time as usual. Thanks to all of the Dads for bringing the groms; Martin for the hotchoc; Tom for the firewood; Darcy and Joel for shooting pics. Also, thanks to Darcy and Curtis for the test rides on the Flashpoints. Always fun to try new sticks.
My 15 yo son almost came but since his buddy couldn't make it he passed. Hopefully next time.

Thanks to everybody that helped put on the Grom Gathering and to all those that participated. My children had a wonderful experience at their first winter morning surf session.

We scored with the weather and surf conditions on a day that predicted wind and rain.

Tom Linn brought some young groms that were tearing it up.

Martin played Papa to all the kids by keeping them warmed up with hot cocoa.

The big highlight of the gathering was the new influx of women surfers including first timer Jeannie on a beautiful Mez fish donated to her by Craig.

I counted the following kneelos yesterday:

5 kneelo grom chicks- (all Groms in thier hearsts at least) ages 9 and up
8 kneelo grom dudes- ages 9-16
at least 20 knormal kneelos

Is there such a thing of a normal kneelo. HAHAHAHA
