Thanks for the responses to my questions so far.

Hate to admit, but I've flipped like a fish on the gathering, given the lenght of drive from Oxnard, the prospect of rain/wind, and told my nephew couldn't go. After cancelling the motel room (the whole family was to go), my nephew called to tell me he can go, plus now my kids (7 and 10), say they really want to go.

So, looks like I'll be coming down on Sat morning with everyone asleep while I drive, (figured I should leave around 4am for any chance of morning glass...).

Don't know Oceanside, and mapquest doesn't show the south jetty lot. I can probably find it, but it would help if someone could tell me the offramp and general directions?

Much appreciated...

RT,

Directions to the Oceanside Grom Gathering; Take I-5 to the Harbor Drive exit (west), Turn right onto Harbor Drive South (this wraps around the south side of the marina.

Go to the parking lot at the end of Harbor Drive (on the beach). This is a pay lot.

The lot across the street has free 2 hour parking adout 200 yards from the beach. Enforcement doesn't start until 8am, so your good until 10. There's also free all day parking a little down the road.

Sam and I will be there. Harry can't make it this time. We'll bring another canopy. We'll bring a cooler with some drinks too.

Well, the fish finally flopped dead...
the grom's mom says he can't make it.

Maybe we'll try to make it to Trestles.

Hope the surf gods bring you clean conditions!

Had a great time today meeting so many of the names I've been reading! Really good conditions, good turn out of groms, and a lot of really nice folks. I look forward to next Sunday.

Lots of fun. Good to see everyone young and old.
It was good to see all the kids in the water today.
I was especially impressed by little Sebastion. He was really going for it.
