keep hearing its been pumping down at the wedge from a few bodyboard groups on myspace....gonna check it out this week/end and post back......

Nah, earlier this week the swell was predicted to be pumping, but the next swell that is going to pump is going to be the weekend after this upcoming one.

Actually, besides summer "boogie boarders," most spongers are just as apt to underestimating wave heights as standups, kneelos, and the rest of the wave riding world. You've probably heard little kids running up the beach and saying, "WOAH I JUST CAUGHT LIKE A TEN FOOT WAVE O MY GOSH!" but that's not generally what spongers are like. If we catch a big one, we know it, but we are just as likely to--or not to--claim as any other wave rider.

But yes, if your question is truly whether or not everything is 1-2 foot overhead when you are laying down...I guess so? Never busted out the ruler out there.

went to wedge today with my ecuadorian friend who surfs and watched for a while.....it was really working with lots of in-n-outs by the local sponge crew with sets being head high+......i wouldve paddled out but couldnt leave my friend on the beach to watch........looked super fun but she just wasnt down with shorebreak

anyone up for an early morning wedge run this summer? i havent kneeboarded the wedge since the 80's i think?

it was huge today.....huge...consistently 8-10 with REALLY big sets........some like 15' on the face.....had god time bodysurfing it up with a couple of the locals.....chill guys....it was makable/kneeboardable here and there....but not consistently...
