Any one up for DMJ's on Monday, 9/3?

Post by Tom Linn »

Should be a decent south coming thru. It would be cool to have an impromtu kneelo gathering and take advantage of the swell. cya at 7:00AM

After DMJ's we could have a follow-up session at Church's, Lower's or Upper's. Maybe a group lunch in San Clemente between sessions.

Now that would be a good surf day.

DMJ's:
Del Mar Jettys, the northern most of the three Oceanside jettys that create the Oceanside Harbor and the Del Mar Marina (on base), this is on the Camp Pendleton Marine Base. Do not look for it in Del Mar, CA.

You just stop at the gate and tell them that you are there to surf.

I had a friend that frequented DMJ's back in the 80's, and told me this place was off the hook. He knew another guy with a pass. I tried to get him to hook a brother up, but it never happened before I left Cali. Some friend, huh?

I've heard of some fairly creative ways to access this spot...I assume you guys have a "pass"

The closest thing I have to compare this spot to would be "Officer's Beach", which is located on North Island Naval Air Base (Coronado). I used to work with a Naval Subcontractor, so I had a pass onto the base, as well as the Sub Base near the tip of Point Loma.

Many good, uncrowded days...back in the day. 8)

DMJs Monday

Post by Chris Buscemi »

I've checked DMJs every morning for the past two days and it's been nothing but two foot shorebreak. That being said the south side of Oceanside Peir has been a lot of fun. Fair number of kneelos in the water too.

I do not think DMJs will be the call in the morning.
If I say its safe to surf this beach Captain, then its safe to surf this beach. I mean I'm not afraid to surf this place, I'll surf this whole f@cking place!
