Is anyone interested in having a Florida gathering this spring?

Yes. We don't start to really get flat until Mid May. Florida gets consistant surf with approaching cold fronts blowing onshore for a day or so and then blowing strait offshore. North swells roll in when Nor'Easters develop off of Georgia and Spin up the coast .
It's not BIG often, but it can and does get good here.

Florida in the spring
I would be interested in some spring time waves. I may be in Texas but I have board and will travel any time.

I'm thinking sometime in late March or early April. I got the ok from my wife to have our house become the Kneelo Hotel for one night, a Saturday. Reservations are needed, but the price is free. I live a block from the beach in Melbourne and the break there is pretty good. It's called Quality named after the Quality Suites Hotel. Man-O-War has offered to buy a keg!! I've got a great backyard with a big deck and a fire pit for after surf B.S. sessions.
The water then will be around 70, so a spring suit will be all you need.
These are some of the breaks within a half hour of my house. RC's Satellite Beach, Melbourne Boardwalk, Spanish House, Sebastian Inlet, Monster Hole and Wabasso (where I work and most of my pics are from).

Hey quadfin,
the ESA has discontinued their kneeboard division.
I've had some response to this possible gathering, as far away as Texas, but I'm having trouble getting a date secure. The last weekend in April is the only one that works for me.
We've been getting some late winter groundswell from the North and SE windswell as of late.
Pop me an email if anyone's interested.

This really blows me away...
Eric, I lived in Melbourne for 7 years and the only kneeboarder I ever saw was when I looked in the mirror. I did like living there, the only reason I really left was because my friends and I graduated college and needed to move on, so we went to California. This was only about 3 years ago.
I even spent a good bit of time surfing all those spots (mainly Quality suites, Sebastian Inlet, Wabasso, etc.). And never saw any kneelos.
I guess this is just another testament to the growth of the sport in the past few years.
When you have the gathering, give a nice hello to the Blueberry Muffin, (thats where I used to live, four houses down from A1A) and Bizarro's.
Have Fun
Albert

The dates are April 17th-18th. Let's hope the Mother Nature and King Neptune get together and produce some quality warm juice. The water will definitely be skinnable. I surfed yesterday in a springsuit and was getting hot.
Last April Florida scored a sweet swell from Tropical Storm Ana (My wife's name). It was the earliest named T.S. on record. I'll post a pic from that swell.
Albert, I wish you could make it.

I'm there....what, no call?
Hola Eric,
I just saw your post, have not been on for awhile.
Sounds great but I thought you would at least e-mail your " Hot barrels in Hatteras bro" for this gathering...And I live 2 hours north...what gives.
Oh well, count me in.
Stephen

It looks like we're going to score a nice long period groundswell for next weekends gathering. A deep low in the mid Atlantic is forcasted to retrograde and move southwest thanks to a strong Canadian high north of it. Some reports are calling for a 10-15 second interval groundswell in the 4-6 foot range.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
