Hattie gathering Aug 16-23?

Post by KneeBumps »

Anybody up for a kneelo gathering at the Outer Banks? I'm renting a house in Buxton near the CHNS park entrance (off the beach) Aug 16-23. Mike F. is coming for the early part of the week, please join us! PM me if you need a place to crash, we probably have room. Might be a bit early in the season to expect a swell, but it would be great to get a group of kneelos in the water!

Kneebumps-
I'm up for a get together.
My work schedule will probably prevent me from taking too many days off but I live close by in Va and would love to meet up with you, Mike F and any other KBer's down this way.

Would love to get a session or 2 with some experienced kneeriders to gain some knowledge

Thanks
Jim N

I may drop in to meet fellow kbrs if my newly scoped right knee feels up to it. I live in Va beach and am looking for an excuse to go to hatteras island. I missed all the waves in july and hoping i will be able to surf in August. THINK SWELL!

Gogglefog, are you going to make it over? PM me and I'll give you my cell.

CaptK, it's about 4.5 hours from Raleigh out 64 and down 12 to Buxton, depending on whether you hit beach traffic. PM me for my cell, if needed we can give you a surf report before you make the drive.

Yes, got a nice swell Friday and Sat off the pressure gradient between Fay and the northeast high. never really cleaned up, but the Cove picked up a decent wraparaound swell Friday evening with sideshore- offshore wind. Scored some big green (lumpy) walls at the jetty Sat AM before I busted back. Sorry we missed you- catch you next year.

Hey Doug-
Glad you got a little something to ride Sat - hopefully you didn't get mired in traffic going home.

Conditions got pretty fun Sunday and Monday (Your original week :( )

It was great meeting you and Mike- and fun to actually have a couple other KBers in the water
We should definatly do it again -PM or call me next time you head down this way

Jim,
Great to get together with you and Mike for the day- hope to do it again next year. I did have a fun session Sat AM, sat way outside the jetty and stole all the big ones from the kiddies
My nephew had a 4X4 and we also got some nice waves to ourselves Thursday and Friday evenings on the South side between Frisco and the Cove.
I'll give you a shout if I get to Hampton for the holidays - any excuse to get away from the relatives....
Cheers,
Doug
