I was rather shocked when I glanced at the thread heading ... until I realized that I'd misconstrued the second O in cook to be a C ... thankfully its not ... cock fighting (the feathered kind) has been banned in most developed countries ... and the other variation beggars belief ... carry on.

meat on a stick

Actually meat on a bunch of sticks. I'll bring Korean BBQ skewers, Char Siu skewers, and Tandoori spice skewers (pork, pork and chicken).
Should be a quick cook appetizer for the real meat to come later.
I can throw in some veggie skewers too, if anyone is interested.

CAVEMAN,
Come to Huntington Beach "City Beach" in front of the Hilton Hotel just south of the HB pier. The Cove Crew will welcome you with open arms, my brother.

Official Date Change for Cool Off

Posted: Sat Sep 28, 2013 1:59 pm
by Amanda Taylor
Due to some red tape, which has now been cut, the Official Date for the First Annual Kneelo Cove Cook Off will be SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27.
We will surf in the morning, then set up the bbq's after.
It will be held at the Cove.
Bring your own BBQ, small tables, etc as we can spread out in the parking lot.
If you have questions, throw them out, pm myself or Razor/Chuck Smith.
There has been plenty of trash talk about the boys and their meat so, bring it on. They are really excited with sharing their meat with everyone. :P
Other entries are invited as well: sides, salads. Etc. But of course the focus will be on the meat!
Sorry for any confusion about the date. It was literally settled this morning in the parking lot.
Hope to see you next month.

Due to some logistical bs with the smokers, bbq's, runners, etc... The First Annual Cove Meat Fest will take place in the motorhome park, just steps North of the Cove.
Look for Big Fred Rodriques' rig in spot #45.
The boys will still surf in the morning. Meat will get smokin early. Feasting will begin sometime between 2:00 & 3:00.
Bring an appetite as there will be many delectable delights to tease your taste buds.
Any questions... You know where to find me. Or call 949-436-0427.

I must say that the event at the Cove was well done and so much fun. I was really impressed with how well Big Fred, Carl and all the others can perfectly smoke meat while keeping it butter tender at the same time.

Carl's Tri tip was sublime and Big Fred's ribs were perfectly done and so tasty. Butler's receipe was excellent and had us coming back for more.

A special thanks to all the attendees who brought side dishes and drink to accompany the spread. Thanks to Big Fred for bringing down the motor-coach which served as headquarters.

The tropies by Fuller were creative and really cool looking.

I hope this is the start of something that happens annually.

A great event. 8)
