NorCal Gathering...

All,

We are trying to get a NorCal gathering in the books for Tuesday December 23rd for anyone in the area. Surfline has the surf finally coming down to a meager 9-12' with good offshore winds and an afternoon dropping tide. Could be the place to be!

Let's keep an eye on conditions. I'll update here as we get closer to the date. It will be good somewhere - we just need to wait and see.

Cheers,

Don

At this point, Surfline is predicting two NW swells in the water, both between 4-5', and between 17-20 seconds, and with light winds, but with an amazingly high tide at about 11:00am (6.7'), then draining out dramatically through the afternoon.

With the right wind, it could look just like this...

Looks good enough for me Scott :D With that long period, do you think it will be breaking under the bridge?

Sorry, I don't know anything about that "under the bridge" spot as I have never surfed it. Maybe the other guys can tell you more.

Well, no 6'3" gun for me to bring on the 23rd as I just completely creased it today surfing The Lane. It'll have to go to the ding hospital for a bit of stay in Urgent Care, for sure...

I hope someone's got a loaner for me if the surf is big!

Well, Surfline is now calling it 15-19' on the 23rd. That doesn't bode well for the beaches and the reefs will be maxed out. Let's keep an eye on it. Something in town may be OK. I'll leave that to Scott Wessling... after that swell we go into a nice period of offshores and 6-10' for awhile. Postpone? Do both? I'll make the trek wherever.

Cheers,

Don

I'm good for anything.
Looks like low tide spots before Xmas, then OB will clean up the 26th.
Could be something fun around my house, especially if the storm tear up some sand bars. I'm up the 20th

I'll be up in San Francisco with Beth for New Years weekend. I would be up for a surf while we're in the neighborhood.
