Getting back to the heading of this thread
Can I also give a HUGE THANK YOU to some people.....

Firstly to John and Kim Mel ... who put 7 people up for the week ...
This is the second time you have looked after me whilst in your lovely city ... your hospitality along with the locals that don't have anything to do with kneeboarding was fantastic (Paige, Dave and the Pleasure point locals) Thank you

Jon and Nora Manns ... I love you ... you are what all people should inspire to be ...
You welcomed us with open arms (along with a lot of others I believe) fed us and offered local advice and comfort during our stay (I have to get the bean recipe off you)

Don and Bonnie Harris ... you as last time here come to the airport and greet us help sort arrival bits and lead the way back to your place so as we don't get lost and put us up, feed us and make sure we are comfortable however difficult

Mark Wessling ... Just meeting you after all this time (sorry you had to return to Florida) and seeing the stoke you have with this disipline we all seek ... then the gift of your beloved spoon was way more than anyone could even imagine ... I will keep you informed of the progress of the board and my riding abilities

To all the English crew ... I hope we can catch up again soon, Robbie from Ireland ... or NZ or Aust... matee you are what all expect a friend to be ... Murray and Kel ... see you at Bendalong

To all the people I reacquainted with after the 03 titles ... and to all those I met for the first time this trip ...
You ALL make me want to return to enjoy at full you great country and what it has to offer
I hope I can return the same hospitality when you are out this way
Again a huge THANK YOU ... to you all
I hope to see you in New Zealand in 09 at the least
And to all I didn't mention .. Thank you too
For me this was the best event I have attended ... Great organisation guys and THANK YOU

cheers for now

Tony

+1 Tony!

Too many to list, but a HUGE thanks is due Jon & Nora Manss!

I hereby nominate them to receive the coveted GOLDEN OVEN MITT HOSTS OF THE DECADE AWARD!

If you didn't make it over to the Manss' for a home cooked dinner during the week, where the heck were you! I think Jon and Nora cooked a meal just about every night, playing host to Australians, Brits, wayward and half-frozen Americans, spooners, and even kneelos from the sovereign nation of San Diego. Not to mention all the work Jon put in on those trophies again. When they weren't feeding us they were helping us out in the lineup and pointing us in the right direction for coffee and night life. Kudos to them and all the kind folks of Santa Cruz who once again tolerated our kneelo invasion with patience and kindness.

I would like to thank Jon, and Nora Manss for the awesome dinner and fire pit. I really enjoyed the time there chatting with among others, Mavericks Phil, I will never forget after he was telling us he was out at Mavericks that day, I asked him how big it was. He said he didn't know. I asked him if it was as big as a tree nearby that was about 3-4 stories high, and he had to think about it. I guess we all know how big it was  .
I want to thank Judge Rick Knapp for lunch with his lovely girlfriend.
Thanks to Frank for sharing his innovative board design with me.
Thanks to Ler (Mike Butler) of Hurley, and his wife, for the great chili dinner. Had a great time back at the trailer with the boys. :x
A thanks to Bruce Hart for the chats we had, if you haven't met Bruce, you should make an effort next time.
Thanks to Ropes (Robert Parada) for introducing the kneelo song to me, and playing my weird guitar.
It was great seeing guys like Martin Murph, Stemple, Darcy, Ed Quinn, Gigs, Baden, Scoop, Kenny Stapelton, Greg Little, Greg Shewman, and a whole crew of other people, thanks.
Thanks to Fred Rodriguez for driving me to SC, and going out at the Lane when we arrived.
A big thanks to Fred Peterson, Huntington kneelo legend, and super nice guy who took me surfing with him several times. An inspiration for all of us.
A big thanks to Twinfinfish (Doyle), Skansan, (Matt Pierce) 4th place Pro Junior, Scott Hayward, 4th place Grandmaster, WayneK, Chuck, and Mutiny for the hilarity we had back in the trailer, freakin RH'ers  .
Finally a big thanks to Mutiny, (Tom Backer ) and his family for putting me up for a week back in HB, and tolerating my cold.
What a great contest, thank you to Don, Mark, Tom, Jon, all the sponsors, and all the others for putting it on.

PS. Chuck, I still have your contact cement. Sucker!
