Great result, Danny!
Just completed 10 hour all-night drive back from Bendy with Neil Owen. He dropped me straight at work and I teach in 1/2 and hour. Hell drive (but could have been worse - only saw a few roos, had to swerve to avoid a range of possums and just managed to not hit one large grass-eating (though not at the time) wombat. The almost hood-ornament falcon was a bit of a surprise, though and the fog was crazy) ... but it was worth it to have a beer with all you blokes again. Green Island on Friday was a treat and the dolphins were really special. Had a great weekend even though I only made the semi. Let's do it again soon...
PS Thanks for the President's Award. I am trully humbled by the recognition. After all, I have just been having fun going surfing. It's the fun and friendship of the kneeboadring community that keep me coming back for more.

Heato Heato Heato
Heato has always been a great surfer in my eye's, always had a smooth fluent, attack kinda style...No different this weekend. But, I could see the stoke in his eye's to be on a fresh board, to heato one good turn deserves another (hence your case of coopers bruce) and his surfing is the same.
The only problem he had this weekend was drawing the hardest 1st round heat of the event including Michael Novakov, Chiko Munoz and Heato.. only two go through. It was a good heat to watch, everyone was ripping...but it came down to wave selection...and Heato needed one more good one to make it through....but in 15min heats best two waves at a place that can take you 5 minutes to paddle back out....can mean the end of you...and thats what happened. His surfing definately did not let him down. Anyway he was surfing as good as could on his new stick, I sat with heato all saturday afternoon at the Bendalong shop drinking coopers from 3:00pm till about 7:30pm talking quality crap..as we do..having a great time. With lotsa of the crew joining us for a quick one before they moved on...we had a ball. In the middle of it all he told me he felt like he was surfing at about 80% on his new stick, which means another 20% to go.....lookout
