Apart from joining say Surfing Queensland ...
WOMBLE, I invite you to join my movement to boycott this event as its basically unkneeboarding in nature.
a true kneelo world champ should be able to roll up on the morning of the comp, slap down the entry fee, win through each heat to the final, wipe the known possers in the final off the score sheet, collect the silverware, and not be seen ever again. The silverware turns up (12 years later) 325 km inland at a garage sale being held by scornful women rueing the day she ever picked up the hitch hiker with a fatter than normal board...the board turns up at the back of the garage (as new)..."yeah you can have it for $20"
when grown men are talking about chaffing this is the only way out, escape the post modernist paradigm and return to essentalist kneelo modality...try freaking footy shorts

Thanks
Ler,
You forgot to ask about the weather...
I've surfed it sunny and offshore to onshore with hailstones (they hurt!) to sunny and offshore - all in the same session!
April (Autumn) is the best time down here. Warm weather, gentler winds and swell small enough to surf the beachbreaks, but often big enough to get to surf the reefs, too.
Check out the Phillip Island link on the official website at http://www.2011kneeboardsurfingworldtitles.com/ This has some spots listed.
You can also check out http://www.islandsurfboards.com.au/inde ... =3:general for some footage of Express Point (I think)
The important thing is that both sides of the island get surf http://minyos.its.rmit.edu.au/~zrsr/vic ... ilisl.html, so it's possible to get offshore one side when the other side is onshore. There are places to go when it's 2ft and places to go when it's 10ft, and places to go and surf 3' waves when it's 10ft+. This means that boys and girls are unlikely to have to face dangerous conditions, and old farts like me can hope that we'll run to the protected spots when the swell gets up.[/url]
