Frankly,

It would be kind of retarded to drive away from the nice run of south
swell and uncrowded waves we've been having up this way in order
to go to a contest...

NorCal and Kneelo Cove should stay home... they don't have a chance.

The Sprocket... tan, rested, and ready after two weeks in Bali... has been at Malibu all week dialing his FREAK into Cali Right Point Breaks.

Everyone else is surfing for 2nd.

Yeah EQ was out there too yesterday, and got the bomb set wave.

Fortunately for those of us that have entered he has decided he'd rather spend the day wearing skin tight leather with a throbbing machine between his legs.

I understand 18 are entered (I'm working to get a final list of names). The first round will run from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Four heats with four and five surfers per heat - 15 min. Semis will run about 11 a.m. and the final by 2 p.m.

The swell forecast is 3 to 5 on Sat.

Here are the directions I was given over the phone (don't hold me accountable!)

Exit California Street
Go Across frwy
Make immediate right
Go to 4-way stop
Turn left at the Fairgrounds
Go all the way to end (pay parking lot)

Good luck all - take down those Inebriated Cove guys!
