Novo July comp

Post by grot »

Novo's scored offshore conditions this morning for the July pointscore at Redhead beach. The last remnants of the recent swell held out for us but right on cue, up came a blustery SSW'er for the finals.

Good news for the Novo's :D - seeing 17 year old Sam Arthurs making the Open semi finals today against some talented surfers.

Open results
1 Shannon Berwick
2 Baden Smith
3 Andrew Finnie
4 Barney Adler

So is anyone going to post any video of the event? Sounds like some of the footage would be good.

Excellent waves, well done running such a tight comp Grot, wonderful choice of bank

There's so many good surfers in the club now it's crazy. Barney Baden Heato Berwick Damo Rastus darren etc etc. The list grows and grows.
Anyone who makes it to the final feels lucky more than anything else.

Great idea the repa after the first heat. JC should adopt it for the larger comps if there's time. Keeps everyone happy. Wouldn't have a problem like heato had in his "regional" heat where he pulled Albert, Steen and Novokov maximus (?) and ended up knocked after one open surf (?) Just not right to have four of the best in a heat in round one. (not that andrew Heato complained at all - he just mentioned it in passing) Long way to travel to get lumped with the cream straight up.

In case you didn't know: we christened Ratstus with a new name: "wave magnet". How was he pulling that "on the hooter" right in the semis and nipping poor old shannon in the bud. Beauty before age. 8)

Good to see Jaimie back in the H20. And sam ripping.

stay well

Greetings Grot.

You going to stick your daughter's prose up here?

Or should I do it for you?
