KSUSA Titles Steamers' Lane Nov 17, 18, and 19

Post by Tom Linn »

Save the date.

The third annual KSUSA Titles is confirmed for November 17, 18 and 19 at Steamers Lane in Santa Cruz. The date and location should generate excellent surf for the event. As in year's past, we will have tons of prizes, mucho surf gear and several boards to raffle off, as well as evening events and fun for everyone. Format will be similar to last year with a minimum of four heats and competition in the Open, AAA, AA and Juniors division. All Juniors heats will be ran on Saturday, November 19th, so bring on the grommets!!

Entry forms and other contest details will be posted on the KSUSA website shortly. In the meantime, let me know your questions and I will do my best to answer them.

The water will not be OFFICIALLY cleared for the event. But we do intend to hire several locals to keep the main take off area clear and to provide all competitors with clear cut right of way at all times. I know this isn't the ideal scenario, BUT, we will have better water clearance than last year.

I was very happy with last year's water rights given that we were running heats for about 26 hours in very good surf conditions, and, we had only 2 or 3 relatively minor issues with guys in the water. I strongly believe that we can put on a high quality event at Steamers Lane with even better water rights than we had at Pleasure Point last year.

Scotty Mac
Who gives a sh#$t what the water patrol will be like, it's in our back yard dude. You call Deworken and I'll call Collier and we will get water patrol. They know how to clear the water. Or we get Peter Mel, or we get surfhorn who swears the water will be cleared, even if he doesn't enter.
Yeah Tom, bring it on, we'll have another great event. Way stoked to hear the news.

Kudos, Tom and the KSUSA steering crew! That's gotta be work to get the Lane!

I have it on VERY reliable information that it will be 6-10' and absolutely SMOKIN" on that exact weekend in November!

Not only that left, but you can ride a left right into a cove with no escape until the set let's up. Did that one too many times. I will personally show any and all the proper line up to all the lefts out there. No BS, as long as you promise to go left.
