My son Hunter just called and says its gorgeous up at Mavs. He is the videographer on a boat. John Mel called my son yesterday and asked if he wanted to go for a little boat ride.

Out the door at 4:40 AM and towed John's boat up to Mav's. John also has Quiksilver reps onboard. Look for a Stripper model boat about 28 feet.

and while standing around this morning Hunter was able to help Jeff Clarke launch his ski.

All the PWCs mulling around the line up are contest officials and rescue personnel.

Just watched sets pouring into Pleausure Point and spots south. Not a breath of wind and warm sunshine kinda day.

If any of you suscribe to Surfline.com, they've already got an excellent video of the contest available for viewing. Those waves were genuinely big and perfect!
