GAVIN COLMAN

Post by hart »

:D :D

Brad

Gav will be stoked with your post :!:

I first saw Gavin rip as a kid in 1985..and by the early 90's we had started worked together

On and off-we have done so ever since

(is that contradictory..or what ?)

:D

Gavin Colman thoroughly deserves these past two victories because it has been in his blood for a long time :!:

And I am so stoked we are all getting to witness it

hart

thx to KSUSA and KSA in particular

Gav deserved the win....he hit the lip the hardest...to be exact he hit it twice, once on each wave

it was difficult conditions for the guys, with wave selection being the winner.....

Bendalong results

Post by wolruss »

Yep, thats right jdkneelo, all the results are up on the KSA site now.
Despite the weather on saturday, a good time was had by all, thanks to the kneelo spirit. Met heaps of new people - the Foxmans, Neil Owen, the boys from Queensland, Scott and Anthony, Mick Maguire from Gympie, just heaps of people as well as catching up with guys from the other contests. It'll carry me through 'til the Coffs comp. which I'm sure will be well run and attended.
My congrats to all those involved in the running of this years Bendalong event , another success to a long list of many - listen to me I've been to two comps as a competitor and one as an observer.

Another absolutely stoked kneelo
Cheers Wolruss

big thanks to the organisers, sponsors, etc.

Gavin Colman his being around forever it seems.
Mid 80's and about 14 or 15 he lobs at the caravan park near Duranbah with Scott Lawton and and Paul Armstrong from Express surfboards - whatever happened to him?
He told me recently that he'd never heard of Kirra before he went surfing with Keg and a tallstreak of pelican poop way back then - it was our first time too but we had heard of the place - hell we were 19 going on 20.
End of the 80's his riding Bert's boards with the big picture of Buddy the cattle dog - rather apt since he was like a cattle dog snapping at Simon's and anyone elses heels who was making the finals of comps around then.
Mid 90's riding Bruce's creations and his on a serious mission and he gets close to what he thought was the holy grail at Durban WT 1 and Wollongong WT 2.
End of the 90's and his chasing mirages to Geraldton to try and qualify for the World Surfing Games, and more mirages in the form of young lasses with uptight parents to the other side of the globe.
Flashbacks around this time on Bert's trip off the rails send him off in other directions including hard work in the mines and trips to mexico.
2006/7 and his on a roll and as much as his stoked , everything is in perspective - tried to tempt him into going to margaret river chasing rainbows next week but he figures his done enough surfing during the last 6 months, time to knuckle down and get some work done.
World champ, Bendalong champ well done mate!
