Normally I hold standup comps with about as much interest as baseball, however Kelly Slater just won his 10th World Championship title. He also won the Puerto Rico contest, and dedicated it to AI.

Sorry Doug, any female that weighs over 1000lbs, and still couldn't fit a D cup bra, is measured by hands, doesn't shave, and pees where ever she wants to isn't considered. :P

I'd throw a challenge [Slater's] way to come and win Sunset. You're not -- in my opinion -- a complete surfer until you win at Sunset. He's won Pipe. He's won the Eddie. Come prove yourself completely and win an event at Sunset.
Hopefully, one day Slater will indeed become a complete surfer...
I remember Buddy McCray mentioning that one of the few people that he's seen take off behind the peak and backdoor huge Sunset was Kelly Slater. The guy's a freak :!:

I was sitting on the sand at Middles on Sunday watching Kelly win his 10th World title, and let me tell you guys that the man is an animal. I have never seen anybody surf so good in my life. The level of surfing at the rip curl search contest was incredible, but Kelly's surfing was out of this world. The guy must be an Alien....

Kelly has had trouble in contests at Sunset. His boards don't seem to be made for Sunset. Someone once said: "His inability to do well in a contest at Sunset cost him a World Title." (the year AI won a close one with Kelly)

I still wouldn't say he was incomplete as a surfer.
Sounds like someone trying to make sure Kelly shows up to his contest.

"If you are over 35, try to surf like Kelly. If you are under 35, try to surf like Dane." Or so they say...

A 10 time World Champion.

Typical?

I think not.

Not in any sport that I can think of.

Not even Lance Armstrong can touch that, even with the
Performance Enhancing drugs.

If Quick gives him a share worth 22 Mil he deserves it.
He's made them what they are today.
