2011 Kneeboard Surfing World Titles-Phillip Island
It's been set for Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia in April 2011.
Jim Brown is taking the lead and his team is organized and motivated to put on a great event. Kneeboard Surfing Victoria, Kneeboard Surfing Australia, and Surfing Victoria are all collaborating so it should be a tremendous experience and not one to be missed

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS Victoria April
2011 - April 8th to 26 April
This is also when easter will fall and thus the Bell Beach Classic...albeit on the other side of the bay. Whether that works for promotional aspects Im not sure.
For my part if its in the school holidays I can aim to make it...which means join the vic kneelo...and think about a NEW board...the heads moving faster than reality now

ANZAC DAY AND THE COMPETITIVE SPIRIT
After a spot of gardening (potting up the winter/spring bulbs) whilst drinking a beer, my head slowed back down to a more realistic approach re competition.
As Rudyard Kipling suggested …treat triumph and disaster equally as impostors…
In the AFL today the Collingwood Magpies went down to the Essendon Bombers by 5 points in the traditional ANZAC day encounter.
The Magpie coach Mick Malthouse complained that his players had let down the ANZAC’S by sacrificing a 13 point advantage with 4 minutes to go to loose by 5 points.
On the other hand he suggested that the Essendon players had showed true ANZAC spirit by coming from behind to win.
Sorta funny cos the ANZAC spirit is based on a loss.
The ANZACS themselves must be confused because one team has to let them down and the other has to hold them up…but by doing the opposite to them…now if Collingwood where gallant in defeat then perhaps that’s the true ANZAC spirit
Not that the “Z” part of the ANZACS give a hoot considering that this “A”fl and not an All Black to be seen!
Maybe the 2011 worlds should have the final on the 25th of April being ANZAC DAY…dawn service on the beach and all that…by the left…quick march! Dont wear ya flippers if your a flipper wearer...could look odd!
Personally if i could not organise myself to compete Id at least like to get there for a t-shirt

I think that there were a lot of questions asked at this worlds about Phillip Island, a lot of us have been there but there are many who have not and any frequently asked questions should be thrown out as they come up to help the organisers provide as much forward info as possible.
No doubt this event will be very well attended, the victorians always put on a good comp!

And if you follow the dotted line from the kneelo it leads directly to the landlord...Kev wrote:the graphic at the top of the page has the usual Australian friendlies and very typical for Philip Island
