Great extract Red.

Speaking of insects, I found a scorpion at our place in Balnarring and our current location, about 15km from Phillip Island as the crow flies, has heaps of red backs. I can confirm they grow bigger than 1cm as stated in wikipedia.

The water temperature should be about 20degrees Celsius. You can check out the link below for details. The green line, "outside the heads", would be the one to look at.

Mike,
You'll be lucky to see any pussy - platty or otherwise. Phillip Island is not called "Bloke Island" for nothing!

If Slats dresses like he did in NZ, we might have something to look at.

For 2 years running the PI comp in 2010 and 2009 the waves were ankle high.
We had a freezing cold storm last weekend and a below average summer with water temp at 21 degrees C, now 19 degrees C.

So we have had the moz done and dusted with 2 bad comps and a shitty summer, that makes autumn (or fall in the northern hemisphere) looking good for some smoking conditions

Good luck

19 Degrees C is 11 degrees warmer than my last surf here in Beautiful BC.

Does anyone know what day heats actually start?

Sunday is the scheduled start day for heats
http://www.2011kneeboardsurfingworldtit ... rld-titles

Just a clarification of Budgie's note:
The PI comps are held in November - one of the most variable months for conditions in Vicco.

The Worlds is being held in March - a good month for surf in Vicco. First Autumn swells start hitting, the water is still warm from summer and the winds not ferocious.
