re the update - YEP, WELL I READ ALL THAT!

and whilst i can understand and offer good luck to competitors, the vibe just does not mesh with my sense of surfing joy.

I still contend that Simon Farrer's films and Steen's/Slats photography have offered kneebording a future through documentation of quality kneeboarding.

comps are not for everyone and hardly representative.

i do like to follow the results but!

AFTER A RE READ

by vibe i mean vibe of rules and regulations as itemised in the qualiying rather than the vibe of a bunch of kneelos hanging

and also i think Bud's work on the north shore also stands with films and photography as an offering to the future

...if there is anyone there to accept of course...you can lead a horse but...

interesting..... oh well, this confirms that I won't be attending the worlds as an Australian. Anyone here know what the requirements are to enter as a UK competitor?

MONEY CONTROL AND KEEPING ORGANISERS IN A POSITION OF FEELING USEFUL

KNEEBOARD AUSTRALIA DO NOT REPRESENT THE MAJORITY OF KNEEBOARDERS :!:

i saw 3 other kneelos yesterday so with me thats four and i am 100% certain all 4 are not involved in any kneelo organisation

also australia is arguably one of the most regulated places in the world...hangover from the convicts perhaps

we need to loosen up, tax the mining companies (to support kneelo events  ) and enjoy a little actual relaxed approach - not "i will relax knowing others are in control of my life mate" attitude.

ps: i was at 45 the youngest of the 4 so ...go head, regulate the sport out of existance and your organisation out of meaning

or demand people enter with their own insurance being the only rule and organise the thing outside standup surfing authority

Ok, I may be a little slow with things that are not really important in the scheme of life, like contests, or surfing  , and I didn't read the Ozzie rules either, but can someone explain why after reading the last few responses, kneelo's need to have ANY organization to have a contest amongst ourselves? We are writing our own history, so it's not like our contest is for the "record book" someone in the corporate surfing empire is keeping.
What am I missing, and make a good argument, because I may have a rebuttle.

mike, there'll be a reason, there is always a reason..... might not make sense to the mere mortals among us but it will to those in the know. It's probably got something to do with insurances and gaining relevant council's permission to surf as a group in a group with groupies having a grope....

I do, but the preponderance of possible persuasive points are preposterous. However, not knowing the Aussie way, and forgetting that each contest is ruled by the hosting country, I will just ride along in the back seat.

more than likely, but there's too many of 'em to worry about
when there's only a limited number of us anyway I think the gates should be wide open........that's my one concern
