I went to an auction that was primarily a collection of surf memorabillia that Dale Egan had put together.
Dale was a highly talented Warriewood surfer of the 70's who is much lauded by Derek Hynd in many of his ramblings.
I grew up in Warriewood thru the 80's and early 90's.
Warriewood is two beaches north of or a short walk from North Narrabeen for you international guys.

Picked up an original Hand bill(A2 size) for Greenoughs movie including dates for Anzac Hall in College Street Sydney and Collaroy.

also scored a Waves of Change hand bill

Anyone no when these films were released in Australia?

I can see a couple of nostalgia nights at phillip island next year, run some of the old Greenough films and bullshit about how good we used to be in the day!
I was barely born mind you!
But i had a mean zippy board that carved up narrabeen lagoon.

Tracks mag Oct 2010 packs a 40th anniversary first issue reprint. The reprint reviews said Greenough film including grainy pic which looks to be him grabbing rail.

Also read that gaberdine and nylon were in fashion and a new board cost around 50-something dollars ($2 extra for optional detachable fin with packaging and delivery free to anywhere in Australia).

To answer the OP: "SHOWING DATES" are in the reprint (along with artwork).

Tracker boardshorts were made from nylon (...mmm...) and featured a "high-waisted" cut. You might say they were the precursor to the rash vest: the rash fest.

I seem to remember my first board cost $60 around that time ... ish.
