2011 ISA World Kneeboard Titles
19 to 26 March 2011
Phillip Island, Australia

Over 200 competitors from twelve countries will gather at Phillip Island, Victoria, from 19 to 26 March for the 2011 edition of the ISA World Kneeboard Titles, the discipline’s most prestigious championship.

The weeklong event is held every two years, with previous events in New Zealand, USA, Tahiti and South Africa. The competition, fully sanctioned by the ISA, will crown the World Champions in the Open division as well as the age divisions that range from Under 16 to Over 60.

Kneeboarders from Australia, New Zealand, USA, England, Ireland, France, Tahiti, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, South Africa, Canada and Japan will compete for the world titles and the honor of their countries.

This is the first time that wave-rich Phillip Island will host a World Kneeboard Title event. It promises to be a historical week, with all of the current world champions coming together along with a group of very competitive locals.

Surfing Victoria, the state’s governing authority for the sport, will organize the competition to be webcasted and televised live. All event information is posted on http://www.2011kneeboardsurfingworldtitles.com.

Barry the comp is mobile.
not sure what sort of structure they will set up for the judges, generally they use pop up tents on existing timber viewing platforms.
Its a pretty good trade off, less imposing contest set up but abilty to move locations and set up fairly quickly.
As steeno said, there can be numerous A frames along Wollamai beach, when the comp runs on the beach breaks its pretty easy to walk along the beach and get a surf, the further you walk the more the crowd generally drops away.
when we get to the reefs its more of challenge to get a free surf, but the wave quality is a step up. Howling on shore at kitty Millers( anytide get a ride) will be an experience that many will not forget.
I was talking to Jim Brown(World Titles organiser) at the PI comp preso recently and the event is being run by the same team of guys who put on a girls multi division festival each year that includes a WQS event at Phillip island each year.

Ler I saw you surf @ Santa Cruz worlds and you were up there, not sure about getting your dial on the big screen, you would have to knock EQ and gigs out of the way  , i would be suprised if they were not front and centre when the event goes LIVE.
if sprocky and randy reed were in attendance the 4 of them could have there own fashion parade :P :!:
