The Sydney Kneeboard Club, now in its 29th year (in various guises), is about to kick off its 2012 circuit, and IT WANTS YOU!

Get your kids/nieces/nephews/neighbours kids to create you a profile if necessary.

But more importantly, the 2012 comp calender is (REVISED FOR CLUB CHALLENGE)

• Narrabeen - Sun 5th February
• Cronulla - Sat 31th March
• Coledale - Sun 6th May (SKC & WAKA gathering/combined comp/ tag team)
• Narrabeen - Sun 17th June
• Narrabeen - Sat 25th August
• Garie - Sun 21st October
• Cronulla - Sat 8th December

Meeting points/times are:

• Narrabeen - 3rd carpark along on Ocean Street after the intersection with Pittwater Rd.
• Cronulla - top carpark behind Wanda surf club
• Garie - picnic tables in front of carpark

• Daylight savings 7:30am
• Non daylight savings 8:00am

New members can joing at any point during the year, in fact the first comp is free - if you enjoy yourself and what to come back again, you can join at your next comp. Otherwise, contact me for a membership form, and complete and return (email or post) to:

Just another reminder,

The SKC season kicks off this Sunday, 7:30am at South Narrabeen.

Forecast is looking reasonably promising with 3ft of ENE 11 sec swell and light winds early on.

Drag anyone along that hasn't been in a while.

Leave the kids with grandama, actually, bring the kids...even bring grandma. If there's enough grommets we'll have a heat for them, hell, we'll even put on a heat for gran.

I see you guys have a few comps in Cronulla. What ever happened to seeing Shark Island in the mags. When I was there it looked like a Body board wave, but I'm sure it would be a great wave for kneelos. Do you guys get out there or am I thinking of a different area ?

Yeah it's more of a bodyboarding hangout these days. The shark island challenge is usually a pretty good spectacle. In the right conditions the local stand-ups still give it a good go. Don't know the last time a kneelo got out there. Might have to get out and give it a go myself soon.

The break 'Ours' further up the road at Kurnell has been getting most attention the last few years.

The free surf mag 'smorgasboarder' did an article on cronulla recently. Think there was a few shark island photos, but none featuring a kneelo unfortunately. Could be an opportunity in there somewhere.

Howdy all,

As set aside in our calendar, this Sunday 6th May 8:30am, we're having an SKC & WAKA gathering at Coledale just south of the Royal National Park (originally penciled in for Narrabeen).

Format will be an all in comp to crown an individual winner then a club vs. club tag team event.

This is open to everyone from both clubs, those wishing to join the club(s) for the first time, or just wanting to come for a free-surf and/or chat/beer.
